Green Tea BMV Biscuits

Here's a simple dimple
Be-My-Valentine biscuit recipe..
for all the lovers (to-be) out there (chuckles).

combine the oil, honey & sea salt

I tried using a new sifter my friend gave me recently (left) but the flour kept getting stuck onto some grooves @ the bottom.
so i decided to go back to basic (right) ;)

sometimes...the old way(s) is better.

fold in sifted flour mix,
rub dough into crumbs with your fingertips,
place dough between 2 greaseproof paper

step #6 - #9 (below)
i had some remaining dough left.. so i made smaller hearts
& did a cookie-imprint of J & D (go figure, ha).

all done & ready for the oven

Makes ~10 cookie

Ingredients
- Plain flour, 100g
- Baking powder, a pinch
- Green tea powder, 1 teaspoon
- Almonds, ground, 50g
- Honey, 55ml
- Sea salt, a pinch
- Soyabean oil, 25ml

Methods
1. Preheat oven to 150°C.
2. Sift flour, baking powder, green tea powder and almond 2x.
3. Combine honey, salt and oil in another bowl and mix until just combined.
4. Fold in the flour mixture and rub the dough quickly with your fingertips until it becomes crumbly.
5. Place the dough between 2 grease-proof papers (most of it would be crumbly, that's normal) and roll it to 5-mm thickness.
6. Cut cookies out with a heart-shaped cookie cutter (or other  ~3.5cm cookie cutter).
7. Place the cut dough on a baking tray lined with grease-proof paper.

Pretty it up...
8. Find another smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter and lightly press it halfway into the larger heart-shaped cookie dough.
9. Use a chopstick to create holes around the heart.
10. Repeat for all cookies!

11. Bake cookies for 15 - 20 minutes or until firm.
12. Immediately cool on a wire rack.
13. Store in an air-tight container for up to 10 days.

How was it?
it was pretty bitter when it was freshly out of the oven..but after sitting in an air-tight container for 2 days, you can barely taste the bitterness. not sweet & greasy - awesome!! the green tea gives it a tinge of umami flavour as well, love it. makes a light munchie & great for dunking in milk, tea or coffee ;)

Better it up!
if you like something sweeter..sprinkle some granulated sugars on the cookie dough before pushing it into the oven

The Verdict
