Granola

there was quite a handful of dried fruits from making chocolate barks for x'mas..

so I decided that we shall have a go @ our very own granola.

it is very easy to do...cheaper than you'd get from the stores & you can control how much sugar & honey you wanna add.

so why not?

make your own granola today !

numbers as stated in methods below

all gone

packed & ready to go

other than having this granola with milk, you could use it & whip up a parfait.
check out my strawberry yogurt parfait !
super simple !

Makes 6 cups of homemade granola

Ingredients
- Rolled oats, 4 cups (320g)
- Almonds, whole, 1 cup (130g)
- Sesame seeds, 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon (40g)
- Brown sugar, 1 tablespoon
- Cinammon, 1 teaspoon
- Sea salt, a pinch
- Oil, soyabean, 1/3 cup (65ml)
- Honey, 1/3 cup
- Water, 1/3 cup (70ml)
- Fruits, dried, chopped, 170g
- Coconut, desiccated, 2 tablespoons

Methods
Preheat oven at 150ÂșC.
1. In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, almonds, sesame seeds, brown sugar, cinammon and salt, mixing well.
2. Stir in the dried fruits and coconut.
3. Make a well in the granola mix and pour in the oil and water.
4. Pour in the honey.
5. Mix well until everything is coated.
6. Spread out the granola mix on a  baking dish and cover with an aluminium foil (this is to prevent the dried fruits from getting overcooked & burnt).
7. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent the mixture from clumping and sticking (after 40 minutes, your granola would be slightly moist still).
8. Scoop 1/2 cooked granola onto a baking tray and spread out evenly.
9. Continue to bake both granola mix (on baking tray & remaining on baking dish) for 10 minutes without the aluminium foil.
10. Let cool and store in an air-tight jar.

How was it?
so simple to bake & so delicious..taste like something from Carmen.
