So here's a mousse,
a little less sinful & mm-hmm delicious that you can't refuse,
& there can be no excuse,
for this chocolatey treat has a tinge of chilli that'll amuse!
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup (180g) dark chocolate (i used 72% dark choc)
- 300g silken tofu (i used a green tea silken tofu)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) low-fat milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
Methods
1. Melt the chocolate on high for 1 - 2 minute in the microwave.
2. Combine the chocolate and all other ingredients and blend until smooth.
3. Cover with cling wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
Enjoy!
How was it?
Really good. Love the dark chocolate taste that mask the usual 'tofu taste'. Tofu and/or soymilk taste great on its own, but somehow when you use it in desserts e.g. soymilk pudding, there is this strong beany flavour that might be unpleasant to some, like me. in this recipe, the chocolate taste masked it well, whee. the chilli flakes added a little oomph and the texture is gorgeous! velvety and mousse-like. A recipe to keep, it's such a simple whip-up too. also love that the tofu adds some protein to this treat as well.
