Green Tea Almond Boo! Biscuits

mister J.O.B has been very busy,
like a bumble bee,
& as you can see,
this blog has been pretty quiet - oopsy daisy!
but i'm back..baking...happy,
& whipping up something really easy....
& oh-so-yummy!

adapted from......

Makes 16 boo & 4 tiny cauldron

Ingredients
- 100g self-raising flour
- 55g ground almond
- 55ml maple syrup
- a pinch of sea salt
- 25ml grapeseed oil
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 teabag green tea dust

Methods
1. Preheat oven to 160 degree C.
2. Line a baking tray.
3. Sieve flour, almonds and earl grey tea leaves in a bowl and stir to combine.
4. Combine maple syrup, salt and oil in another bowl and stir well.
5. Pour the syrup mixture into the flour mixture and fold to combine.
6. Rub the dough with your fingertips until crumbly.
7. Sandwich dough between baking paper or non-stick baking mat and roll to a 5-mm thickness.
8. Cut out cookies with a cookie cutter (mine is the shape of a friendly ghost) & decorate any way you like. i decided to give mine black sesame eyes and puncture mouths with a chopstick.
9. Bake for 15 minutes or until firm.
10. Cool on wire rack and store in airtight containers.

Enjoy with a glass of low-fat milk!

How was it?
this is a recipe to keep. it's so simple to do, kids can have fun rolling and cutting out the cookie dough with their favourite cookie cutter.

it is not your average biscuit - the maple syrup used in this recipe gives the biscuit an earthy flavour and believe it or not - gram by gram, maple syrup has less calories than honey! i used Hamptom House 100% Maple Syrup.

instead of butter or vegetable oil (not-so-good oil that is usually palm oil & used in almost all food factories), this recipe usesgrapeseed oil, in a relatively small quantity. Grapeseed oil is suitable for baking with its high smoke point and having a neutral flavour, this oil is suitable for bakes such as these bear biscuits so the earl grey flavour can come through stronger.

the green tea flavour wasn't very strong but these biscuits goes pretty well with milk. yummy yummy

Better it up!
increase matcha to 2 teaspoon
